Caves forming a main gallery with a bank of black strata made up of stromatolites
Located about 4 km west of the village of Ndendé, near the road to Tchibanga, these caves form a main gallery where a bank of black strata made up of stromatolites, the first forms of marine life 650 million years old and buried in the depths of the earth, appear. With the rain erosion, the underlying part having disappeared, the stromatolites reveal a remarkable blue color on the ceiling of the gallery. The caves are inhabited by numerous colonies of bats.
