NIOUMBITSI CAVES

In this area you can see the marble quarries and the so-called "bat caves". To get there, it is advisable to take a guide in the village and to bring a good torch and good shoes. The villagers hunt a lot in the area. It is said that before leaving for the hunt, they always pass by the caves in order to interrogate the place. If the caves are empty of their winged occupants, it's a good omen and the hunt will be successful. If not, it's better not to go.
