In the 1990s, the Portuguese Navy's Navigation Service decided to build and restore the existing network of lighthouses to facilitate navigation and protect the rocky coasts of the archipelago's islands. The São Sebastião lighthouse, one of the oldest, was built in 1929. This white tower, topped by a red lantern, is 6 m high. It sits atop the wall of the fortress of the same name and can be visited at the same time as the National Museum. Other lighthouses can be seen along the country's coasts.

Rien de particuliers de toute façon, il se visite en même temps que le musée.
C'est un ensemble (fort/musée/phare) très intéressant à visiter.
