Built in 1575, the São Sebastião Fortress became the National Museum after independence in 1976. The museum covers the history of the country, from colonization (including the socio-cultural aspects of the society of the time) to independence. You can see the table where the declaration of independence was signed, or the original national anthem. There are several small exhibition rooms with sacred art objects, collections of everyday objects, etc. An instructive visit even if the scenography is not the most modern.

Le musée du pays!
Musée bigrement intéressant. Une partie de ce musée m'a encore plus marqué et c'est celle où sont relatés l'indépendance du pays (table où a été signée l'acte d'indépendance, le manuscrit de l'hymne national). Dans un autre style, une autre pièce marquante est celle du massacre de Batepa...
Une visite faite en portugais, personne ne parlant français lors de ma visite, mais visite très sympathique.

Très sympa
La visite la plus intéressante dans la capitale.
Seul touriste pendant la visite, pourtant j'ai trouvé le tour de la petite forteresse/musée sympathique.
Entre meubles et objets de la période coloniale, histoire de l'indépendance et visite de la forteresse qui est très bien entretenu la visite est agréable.
De plus la guide était très attentionné.
