The project of the Association Natcultura was created by Noria Rizzo, architect invested in projects for recovering cultural heritage. In the school of Dioga Vaz, she implemented an association hosted in the former hospital of the Plantation Plantation plantation. It hosts drop-out children who, after a first phase of literacy, are trained by teachers in different fields of crafts and art, computer science, agriculture, beekeeping, language training in French/English of guides and gastronomy…
The spirit of the school lies in the exchange and sharing of skills, the desire to give, and as such trainers from outside can get involved in the project by providing their expertise to make it available to school. In this case, they are hosted free of charge. Others visiting the site and interested in the project can also live on site, participate in activities and enjoy the project and surroundings. They are accommodated in return for € 7 in full pension or benefit from excursions for € 10 per group. The money is intended for the operation of the school and a portion is given to the students as pocket money.
For day visitors, it is possible to plan to eat on-site for 180 000 STD. Only constraint: we must prevent one day.
Several types of walks are open in the surrounding area: three hikes with possibility of combination.

a 2-hour walk, the easiest (view of Santa Catarina, cocoa plantation, canne alcohol).

a 4-hour hike (visit of another roça, Santa Clothilde).

a 6-hour hike that leads to a waterfall and runs along the railway used for planting.

The two longest walks are difficult during rainy season.

You can go to Ponta Figo, then 20 min of car in the mountain and leave for 3 hours of walking: crossing six tunnels, access to the largest waterfall in São Tomé, view of Neves at the end of the road (one of the most beautiful walks in São Tomé).

Other proposed walks: Monte Café-Chamico, a beautiful roça held by the first female master who ran la in Portuguese colonial times. Difficult logistics, but very beautiful walks: You must have a vehicle that asks you to Monte Café, but to be picked up in Chamico. Contact if possible.

A new house is in the finish, to rent for natural tourism (hiking…).
