FONTAINEBLEAU STATE PARK
Superb state park offering a cottage rental on the lake with a sublime view of the sunset
Superb state park on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain, once the site of a plantation owned by Bernard de Marigny de Mandeville. Covering an area of more than 1,100 hectares, it offers a multitude of activities: beautiful beach and swimming in the lake, hiking trails, Tammany Trace bicycle path, etc. You can camp there (more than 150 sites with or without services), glamp (10 tents ready to camp) or - and this is our favorite - stay in a cottage on stilts on the lake with a sublime view of the sunset.
