Mandeville's historic district is ideal for a stroll, picnic or just to enjoy the scenery.

Mandeville was built by one Bernard de Marigny de Mandeville in the early 19th century (he owned a plantation where Fontainebleau Park now stands). Mandeville's historic district was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina, but many areas were subsequently rebuilt. Authentic homes still stand between stores, cafes, bars, gourmet restaurants, etc. Go to Sunset Point, at the end of Massena Street, for a stroll along the lakefront, a picnic or just to look at the landscape.
