I am so thankful we found Blythewood for my son’s rehearsal dinner. We are from upstate South Carolina, so planning an event at a venue I had never seen was really stressful. Ipha and I spoke on a weekly basis for a period of six months. She went above and beyond my expectations. She and her team were so helpful and kind, and they truly wanted our night to be special.

The venue was stunning, the food was delicious, and we left as friends. I highly recommend Blythewood. You will not be disappointed.

Relaxing, peaceful weekend to just take it easy. Good filling breakfast in a nice atmosphere. You can also request to dine on the front patio, weather permitting. Everything is within a 10 minute drive.

We also held 2 events at Blythewood this year that turned out wonderful. The staff is excellent and the grounds are maintained and clean. Would recommend Blythewood for any event.

Pictures are not what you see when you get there. You will be very disappointed if you go off the pictures. You get there and it is ran down and the smell of propane when you go in the back porch when you go in. It is super hot, the air is on in your room only so be prepared to stay in your room only. We went to our room with a couple of hours to spare and could not watch TV or anything due to no connection. No place to get drinks or snacks so bring your own. It was a really bad experience for our first bed and breakfast experience, and we were so excited to get to experience it. We also wanted to take a shower and had to move a chair to get to this other bathroom that had a shower ????. It was really not a good experience to feel like you did not wanna be there. It was definitely quite due to no one was there. Had to use flash light off our phone when we go back due to no light in the house and had to go up 2 flights of stairs. Very scary situation. I due not recommend coming here.

This was the best venue I could have dreamed of for my daughters bridal shower. We had a tea theme and the ambiance was perfect.

Decided to try and find a place to stay the night after a wedding. We didn't want just a cheap hotel room so we were super pleased to find a cool old school bed and breakfast. Ipha and Ellen were super responsive and helped me and my friends pick a room that would meet our needs. The house so so beautiful and all the furniture and decor matches well. I enjoyed taking an hour or so just to sit out on the second story balcony and relax. In the morning we decided to have our breakfast out on the front porch. The food was so good a true southern breakfast with the fixings. Even if it's just for a night you should stay here, slow down and just enjoy yourself.

The Rotary Club of Amite recently visited Blythewood...what a great 'hidden gem...'right here in our own backyard.
Our hosts were very knowledgeable about the home's history and we enjoyed vieing the rooms ....even the 'friendly haunted' Mardi Gras room. The bread pudding was delicious and a great surprise treat .
We will definitely spread the word about this quaint, local bed and breakfast/ wedding venue !

We had a wonderful stay at Blythewood! We were in town for a funeral. Due to Mardi Gras, it was difficult to find a hotel. I saw that a night at Blythewood was comparable in price to the few hotel options I could find, so we decided to stay there. I'm so glad we did! Ms. Ipha was so kind and accommodating when I called to book directly through Blythewood. It was a charming and beautiful room in a grand historic home. Ms.Ellen cooked us a wonderful breakfast, including some of the best cheese grits I've tasted. The grounds are gorgeous & it was a peaceful setting. I would definitely love to return some day when we can plan ahead and spend more time.

Ipha and the crew were very accommodating for our Sorority Christmas Social.

We felt very welcome, and the holiday decorations were a nice touch.

The night before I came to Blythewood was spend at an air BnB with animals crawling in the walls. What bliss to arrive here to Ellen's hospitality and a grand room! One of the other staff members had made a pot roast, and they offered that to me for dinner so I didn't have to go foraging after my long drive. Yum! The coffee pot was ready for me to push start when I got up early, and later I was treated to a delicious full breakfast. My only regret about my stay was that it was too short. This is truly a lovely place with wonderful staff.

I had the privilege of staying in this gorgeous mansion for 5 nights in August. Having grown up in a smaller plantation house, I immediately noted the scent of old wood (like going home) and this mansion has plenty. It has walls and soaring ceilings of old Beadboard and gleaming wood floors. I was awestruck by the size of the interior. The rooms are enormous and are furnished with Period Antiques. I walked the grand halls upstairs and downstairs many times and felt like a Princess. Owner Ipha and hostess Ellen were fantastic and catered to my every need. I plan to stay here each time I’m in this area. Thank you for a wonderful stay. P.S. Great Coffee!
