LARC'S ACADIAN VILLAGE
Acadian Village, explaining the history of the Acadians, their living conditions and what they endured in Lafayette
An Acadian village of the 17th century is reconstituted here. Everything is there: the church, the school, the doctor's house with his instruments. The houses are made of rubble. The whole history of the Acadians is well explained. We suddenly realize what their living conditions were and what they endured. Fascinating! The principle is somewhat the same as the more authentic Vermilionville. A good alternative if you are in this part of Lafayette and have little time to spare. Not to be missed in December: the Acadian Christmas in the Village.
