ST. MARY MAGDALEN CHURCH
Church built in the Romanesque Renaissance style, built in 1911 by Father Laforest in Abbeville.
The church was built in 1911 by Father Laforest. As the previous churches had fallen prey to hurricanes and fires, a new church was built in the Romanesque Renaissance style. Note the stained glass windows, donated by the families of the parish and representing Saint Louis, Joan of Arc... Behind the church, the Old Catholic Cemetery dates from 1843. Its oldest tomb, that of Euphemie Broussard, a large family of the parish, dates from 1852. Father Antoine Désiré Mégret is also buried here. Most of the tombstones are engraved in French.
