EVANGELINE DOWNS HOTEL

We came for my 46th birthday to relax in a jacuzzi and enjoy the casino if we wanted to. The hotel was in a nice location, but it needs work. We got the room that was closest to the front which was super annoying and noisy (I’m a light sleeper). The staff was amazing though. The breakfast was fair. My only real complaint is that they need to buy new bedding and repair the floor boards. Our frig didn’t work, they came fixed it and the toilet ran water, we figured out how to make it work while we’re there. Would I go back? Actually, I would.

I have to agree with a few people on their reviews. It does have the stench of marijuana, but that didn't bother me????‍♀️. The fact it took almost 50 minutes to get checked in because the poor lady was by herself, that was a bit crazy...but what do we expect? I'm sure they are short staffed like every company I know. She did the best she could and was so very kind. I really think she deserves a raise having to work by herself JS. The elevator kinda freaked me out at first cause it shakes as it comes to a stop.Thought it was about to crash???? trust me, you have to get on it to know what Im talking about LOL! The only thing I wanted to do was get in the hot tub and well that was a let down. I guess it was broke. Boooo!!???? The room was good, but the pullout couch didn't have any bedding to go with it. The front desk came to the rescue. Again, she needs a raise! I'd leave a better than 3 star review if the hot tub was working. I hope they fix that...and the whole weed thing, well, you can't do anything about someone in the hotel smoking ????‍♀️ Other than all that, the room was great!????????????
