This small museum celebrates local history and culture through exhibits and archives, covering such topics as the Civil War, the history of native peoples, Cajun cooking, the sweet potato and cotton industries, and zydeco music (the archives of the famous Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival are housed here). An exhibition is dedicated to Rodney Milburn (1950-1997), Opelousas-born athlete and 1972 Olympic champion.
