The place has nothing to do with Italy, with the possible exception of the few transalpine wines on the menu. Rather, Café Adagio is part of the new scene in downtown Houston, where live artists perform daily. The program is dominated by jazz and blues, although other musical genres are also heard from time to time. Those who'd like to avoid paying the entrance fee can always come early for dinner. In that case, there's no cover charge.
