The third largest city in the United States also offers one of the largest rodeos in Texas: a tradition that began as early as the 16th century and was created by the Spanish conquistadors. This rich history reveals how much this tradition is part of the Texas identity. The Houston Rodeo is one of the largest, taking place in the huge NRG Stadium with a capacity of over 70,000 people. This rodeo is very spectacular and commercial, so not necessarily the best to see if you are looking for a more folkloric and old-fashioned experience.
