Sam Houston Park preserves a few historic Victorian homes lost in the midst of the Downtown buildings.

Here are a handful of small Victorian houses lost amidst the buildings of Downtown, a leap back in time in the heart of a more... futuristic Houston. Welcome to Sam Houston Park! Admittedly, there's not much left of the 19th century in Houston, and these eight houses are a bit like survivors. But it's worth applauding the efforts of this association, which has preserved a number of historic homes, including that of Rice, the founder of the famous university, the oldest of which dates back to 1824. Just look at where this town started!

Au calme
Proche de certains musées, immense parc calme avec de beaux jardins et des fontaines. Le jardin japonais est bien paysagé. Un petit parking gratuit.
