Former grocery store and dancehall exhibiting pieces specifically designed by minimalist artist Dan Flavien.
An annex of the Menil Collection, Richmond Hall features four installations by minimalist artist Dan Flavin. Formerly a grocery store and then a dancehall, Richmond Hall was purchased and rehabilitated by the Menils in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The artist designed the pieces on display specifically for this space, in an essentially minimalist atmosphere, where the void is illuminated by discreet and mesmerizing lights and colors.
