Open-air museum with about forty war planes in Galveston presenting beautiful photos and numerous documents
For aviation enthusiasts. Covering an area of almost 10,000m2, the museum is an open-air hangar where some forty restored warplanes await the public. Beautiful photos and numerous documents present and explain the characteristics of each one. Some of these aircraft are accessible, and visitors can climb aboard. In fact, most of the aircraft on display are still serviceable, and flights can be organized by prior arrangement. Many of these cuckoos also take part in demonstrations all over the United States. In 2008, some of them were unfortunately damaged by storm Ike, which flooded the premises, with a good two meters of water in some places.
