One line passes through Austin, the Texas Eagle line. It joins Chicago to Los Angeles. It connects, within Texas, San Antonio to El Paso, Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth. Trains also stop in other Texas cities: Marshall, Longview, Mineola, Cleburne, McGregor, Temple, Taylor, San Marcos, Del Rio, Sanderson and Alpine. The entire trip takes over 32 hours! Prices vary depending on the season, but it remains one of the cheapest modes of transportation. It costs about 60 US$ between Austin and Alpine.
