ANTONE'S RECORD SHOP

Named after Port Arthur-born producer Clifford Antone, Antone's Record Shop opened in 1987, just across the street from Antone's Nightclub, where Blues and Zydeco music legends such as Muddy Waters played. The office at the back of the store served as headquarters for Antone's Records , which eventually released over 60 titles during its existence. In short: this record shop is a true cultural institution for Austin and its musical past. An address not to be missed by fans of American music.
