BOB BULLOCK TEXAS STATE HISTORY MUSEUM
Museum that traces the most significant events in Texas history, using pictorial and audio materials
The museum's permanent exhibition is divided into three main sections: the discovery of Texas, the construction of the Texan identity and the development of opportunities. Each section retraces the most significant events in Texas history, with the help of pictorial and sound documents, and period objects. We'll see Panfilo de Narvaez's expedition, which first reached the shores of Galveston in 1528, the development of Spanish missions throughout the state, Moses Austin's plan to bring American families to what was then Mexican territory, the resistance of the native population, the history of the Buffalo Soldiers, the Texas Revolution and the Battle of San Jacinto, the riches of Texas and their development, the conquest of space, and more. A very interesting exhibition is that concerning oil and its discovery, Texas Oil and Gas. Tracing the history of the oil boom with interactive scientific content, we discover in depth the history of oil that transformed Texas. The museum aims to open a new exhibition in 2025, dedicated to the T-Rex dinosaur. In addition, IMAX cinemas show short films celebrating Texas and other films of the same genre. In a word, this museum is not to be missed, because, in a highly didactic form, it condenses the fascinating history of this state like no other.
