LYNDON B. JOHNSON NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK
National Park that covers two sites, in Johnson City, and the LBJ Ranch, where the presidential couple lived.
The 36th President of the United States, Democrat Lyndon Johnson, was a native of the area: he was born and died in Stonewall and lived much of his life in Johnson City. This local pride has given rise to a national park, which covers two sites. The first is located in Johnson City. Here, you can see the president's childhood home on a guided tour departing every half-hour from 9am.
In Stonewall, 14 miles away on the way to Fredericksburg, we come across the second part of the park, the LBJ Ranch, where the presidential couple lived.
Free passes are available to enter the park and drive to the Stonewall Visitor Center. In addition to the grounds, you can explore the Texas White House, open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
