CHARLINE MCCOMBS EMPIRE THEATRE
Theater designed in the style of an Italian palazzo and completed in 1913, and which was transformed into a cinema for B movies
Completed in 1913, the Empire Theatre was originally a vaudeville theater. Designed in the style of an Italian palazzo, it suffered extensive damage during the flood of 1921 and then went into a slow but steady decline. In 1978, the theater had to close. It was not until 1998 that it was saved from ruin: a private foundation restored it to its former splendor. Registered on the Register of Historical Buildings, it is today a variety theater in full activity.
