Aztec Theatre
Palace dedicated to the art of cinema, architectural fantasy on the theme of Mesoamerican civilization in San Antonio
Completed in 1926, the Aztec was first a palace dedicated to the art of cinema. An architectural fantasy on the theme of Mesoamerican civilization, the building is rich in colonnades, reliefs and various stuccos. The cinema received previews and red carpets until 1984, when it closed. Renovated at the beginning of the 1990s, it receives the protection of the State and is registered in the Register of Historic Buildings. It then reopened its doors and was reborn from its ashes. Today, it is here that concerts of all kinds take place: hip-hop, rock, or comedy.
