THE RIVER WALK
Shores are designed for walking, jogging, entertaining or picnicking on the various sections in San Antonio.
The banks of the San Antonio River have been developed for about 15 miles on either side of downtown, from Brackenridge Park (San Antonio Zoo) to Mission Espada, as a shared path for pedestrians and cyclists. People come to walk, jog, recreate or picnic on the different sections. Very scenic and illuminated at night, the River Walk is a favorite of locals and out-of-town Texans alike, with many bars and restaurants that liven up the downtown area every weekend.
