Welcome to luxurious America, nestled in the heart of downtown: the 545-room Fairmont. The rooms are vast and perfectly equipped, with very good wall insulation. Although some rooms may seem a little old-fashioned, comfort is optimal. A visit to the bar to sample the cocktails is a must. It's also worth noting that, as is not always the case in these impersonal hotels, the staff are extremely kind and attentive. On the downside, parking is expensive (US$33 per night).
