A concrete memorial representing the freedom of spirit that JFK displayed during his presidency.
On the Market Square, not far from where JFK was indeed assassinated, stands a concrete memorial. Built in 1970 by architect Philip Johnson, it is a place of meditation and pilgrimage for many Americans. This simple concrete cube, open to the sky, represents the freedom of spirit that JFK showed during his presidency. There is also a museum, with an exhibit entitled John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation.
