FAIR PARK
Park with a number of interesting museums including the African American Museum and the Texas Hall of State.
This huge park of 127 hectares was created in 1936. Some of the original buildings are masterpieces of Art Deco architecture. It takes several days to walk around the park, but the alternative to see everything is to ride the Ferris wheel that dominates the park. There are a number of interesting museums to visit here such as the African American Museum and the Texas Hall of State. At the end of September, the State Fair of Texas takes over the place. It is then an orgy of fried food and country music concerts in the open air.
