COLONIAL COUNTRY CLUB
Colonial Country Club is a private golf club located in Fort Worth, Texas. Founded in 1936 by Marvin Leonard, the club was created with the aim of introducing Bentgrass greens to the region. Leonard was determined to see Bentgrass greens succeed in the southwestern United States, despite the doubts of some as to their resistance to the Texas heat. The club has hosted the annual PGA Tour event, the Colonial National Invitation, since 1946, making it the oldest non-major tour event to be held at the same location. The golf course is 6,592 meters long and was designed by architects John Bredemus and Perry Duke Maxwell. Colonial Country Club is also known for hosting the Charles Schwab Challenge, the longest-running PGA Tour event held at the same venue since 1946.
