Hot air balloon enthusiasts from all over the country converge here, where the Texas Championship is played over three days. Longview is proud to call itself the hot air balloon capital of Texas, and thus gives much attention to this event that turns the attention of many to this small rural town. In addition to seeing or participating in the balloon race, the festival brings in many country music musicians and turns the place into a great local festivity, with music, food, and fun games.
