The Sterne-Hoya villa is the former residence of the Texas revolutionary Adolphus Sterne. Built in 1830, it was sold to the Hoya family in 1869. The two families left their mark, in two different styles. Thus, the history of the Texas revolution of the Sterne years is traced in the small museum, while the more prosperous Victorian years of the Hoya period left their mark on the interior. The house is furnished with period antiques, family heirlooms, a Texas history library and has one of the first wine cellars.
