Texas State Railroad offers an experience aboard a historic train that travels between the cities of Rusk and Palestine.

For an old-fashioned steam locomotive railroad experience, climb aboard a historic train that runs between the towns of Rusk and Palestine, about 40 miles from Nacogdoches. The round trip takes over four hours, with a 1.5-hour lunch break in either town. Several carriage options are available, from simple wooden benches (the cheapest) to cozy art deco-inspired sofas with table, or even the "Presidential Car": a private viewing platform.
