SAM HOUSTON NATIONAL FOREST
This forest located in the eastern part of Huntsville is a great place to go for a walk, especially since it has a lake.
This forest is located in the eastern part of Huntsville. Its southern edge is only about 50 miles north of Houston. It covers 67 km2. It's the ideal place for a pleasant stroll, especially as it includes a lake (Conroe Lake). Unlike Angelina Forest, a significant part of its territory is occupied by private property. For the rest, you'll find more or less the same flora and fauna: fallow deer, squirrels, hares, ducks..
