Work installed in 1940 by a local sculptor named Bobby Dycke in Dalhart.
For a fun photo, visit the site of the Empty Saddle Monument. Installed here in 1940 by a local sculptor named Bobby Dycke, the work has become the major attraction of this small town over the years. Designed by a cowboy when a widow requested that a horse with an empty saddle appear in the annual parade in honor of her husband, a former cowboy. You'll have to be a little brave to sit in the saddle at the top: the locals will love to see!
