ODESSA METEOR CRATER AND MUSEUM
Crater of 160 m in diameter west of Odessa where a meteorite fell years ago, a small museum tells the story
Located about 10 miles west of Odessa. It is the big attraction of the area, but quite frankly disappointing. Between 20 000 and 50 000 years ago, a meteorite fell on the area, digging a huge crater of 160 m in diameter. At least, that's what they say because, on the spot, the earth seems to have started to cover it. A small, unpretentious museum tries to inform the visitors about the nature of the event. At the end of 10 minutes, one largely made the turn.
