A building that symbolizes the border heritage of the San Angelo community.
At first glance, this building, with its distinctive roof, resembles a covered saddle or wagon. One would like to think that the shape of the building is symbolic of the frontier heritage of the San Angelo community, on the doorstep of the Texas Wild West. Ironically it was not on purpose at all. The permanent collection contains over 650 objects, including a significant number of works by Texas artists, especially works created since 1945.
