Nestled in an open forest surrounded by a picturesque mountain basin, this campground has 56 sites. Motorhomes are not allowed as the road to Chisos Basin is too winding. There are restrooms, picnic tables and running water. This is the most central campground, located next to the grocery store, the Chisos Basin restaurant and some of the most popular trails in the park. Be aware that this campground fills up very quickly, so it's best to reserve in advance to get a spot. The cell phone network is very stable.
