Visitor Center with information on the Chisos Mountains and treks from the Chisos Basin, backcountry camping permit provided
This information desk is a great place to get maps and ask questions of the rangers, who are often friendly and cooperative. Here you'll find a life-size mountain lion, to give you an idea of the beast's size. There's also a small exhibition to guide you through the flora and fauna of the Chisos Mountains, which is very informative and detailed. They sell hiking trail maps for just a few dollars.
