SILBERNER STERN
Under the ruins of Schauenberg Castle, the historic hostel Silberner Stern, in French «L 'Argent d' Argent», welcomes you for a Vesperbrot, an evening bread, or for a real meal on its shady terrace. At the time, the hostel was held in the seventeenth century by the writer Grimmelshausen, whose pages on the ravages of the Thirty Years War are unforgettable. The restaurant is now beautifully decorated with wood and engravings. Do not miss to visit the adjoining chapel where remains of decor are still visible. The palace will also be satisfied: Try a Krug of beer in the region, accompanied by crispy pie pie, or potato cakes accompanied by smoked salmon. The local game goulasch, with chanterelles and spätzthe house, desserts are very nice also: rhubarb gratin and strawberries with vanilla ice, apfelstrudel. A bar is open in the castle courtyard where you can listen to concerts while enjoying local wines. You will have an exceptional view of the castle and Saint George Chapel.
