Canal that was opened to commercial navigation in 1843, now used by pleasure boats in Chambly.
Now used by pleasure craft, this canal was opened to commercial navigation in 1843 and extends 20 kilometres between Chambly and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Its main feature: the locks are stairs and still operate manually. A whole show to see! To stretch your legs, a bicycle path runs along the entire length of the canal. For navigation schedules at the locks, visit the website.
