The 18 arches of this building were designed by the Irish civil engineer John Benjamin Macneill. The viaduct crosses the valley of the river Camlough, with a maximum height of 38 m, which is the highest in Ireland. Started in 1849, it was opened for traffic in 1852. Even today it has the Belfast-Dublin railway line.
