Killeavy is the place where one of the first and most important convents in Ireland was erected by Saint Morinne in the 5th century. Despite its destruction by the Vikings in 923, monastic life continued and the site was occupied by Augustinian nuns until 1542. Today, we can visit evocative ruins.
