The oldest Buddhist temple in Hawaii, dedicated to Kuan Yin, the Chinese goddess of mercy.

The oldest Buddhist temple in Hawaii. It is dedicated to Kuan Yin, the Chinese goddess of mercy. Visits are allowed, but it is important to keep in mind that it is a place of prayer (observe the beauty of the bouquets and the fruit dishes placed in front of the altars) and to remain as quiet as possible. It is not easy to access because you have to make a big detour on foot, but it is worth it, especially to discover the rituals of the inhabitants, who are usually happy to explain the meaning of the different elements.

Joli temple mais pas très bien placé, dans un quartier assez glauque, et assez difficile d'accès à pieds car situé au bord d'une voie rapide grillagée qu'on ne peut pas traverser sans faire un gros détour.
