KAMEHAMEHA STATUE
Superb statue of King Kamehameha, in homage to this sovereign who succeeded in unifying the Hawaiian Islands in 1810.
A beautiful statue of King Kamehameha, black and gold, covered with lei (flower necklaces) all year round in tribute to this valiant ruler who succeeded in unifying the Hawaiian Islands in 1810. Although the Hawaiian monarchy was abolished in 1893, the inhabitants of the archipelago remain very proud of their kings. And, unlike the French, they would not have cut off their heads for anything in the world! This is why many avenues and squares bear their names. Kamehameha I, the architect of the unification of the kingdom, is still considered today as a demigod.
