HAWAII STATE ART MUSEUM
Small museum under the reign of Kamehameha V which presents a little more than 400 works by Hawaiian artists.
Built in 1872, during the reign of Kamehameha V, this small museum features just over 400 works by Hawaiian artists. From paintings to sculptures, the pieces address topics such as imagination, diversity and the evolution of Hawaii. Far from the big institutions, many of the works are experimental and will not fail to surprise you. Previous exhibitions can be viewed online. You don't have to be a museum buff to enjoy the visit, especially since it can be complemented by lunch on site.
