On April 11, 1945, the USS Missouri was hit by a Japanese Zeke aircraft in the waters northeast of Okinawa. Fortunately, there were no casualties except for the Japanese pilot whose body was found in the wreckage. During your visit, relive the highlights of this battle. The entrance ticket includes a 35-minute guided tour, then allow half an hour or an hour more for a self-guided tour using the panels.

L'USS Missouri est accessible uniquement par shuttle depuis le site de Pearl Harbor. Le cuirassé est impressionnant et on se sent tout petit face à lui. Nous avons fait une visite libre, au pas de course, car nous ne disposions que de 2h, ce qui est un peu frustrant. Prévoir au minimum 3h si vous voulez découvrir chaque pont et quartier en prenant votre temps, en lisant les panneaux d'information et en vous imprégnant de cette atmosphère particulière.

en complément du site de Pearl Harbor
entrée un peu chère (32 $) mais visite intéressante. Un parcours fléché permet de visiter les entrailles du navire. Le pont sur lequel fût signée la capitulation du Japon en 1945 constitue l'attrait majeur. On accède au site par une navette située dans l'enceinte du site de Pearl Harbor. Bien faire attention aux horaires. Donc plutôt privilégier le matin

Nous avons opté pour la visite en petit groupe qui permet de voir des zones du navire auxquelles on n'a pas accès si on choisit la visite individuelle.
Après la visite, accès libre à la partie publique du navire.
