Be careful, Big Island has two airports, Kona (KOA) on the west coast and Hilo (HIL) on the east coast, so don't get confused. The airport is a 10-minute drive from downtown Hilo. It is served by bus, uber and cab services. It costs US$15 by cab to reach the center. Major car rental companies are available on site. Drop off and parking for the day for stays on other islands.
