The Hilo bus station is one of the largest on the island. Bus schedules are available at the Hilo bus station. They are also available on the website of the Hele-on bus company. Buses leave from here to Volcano National Park, to Akaka Falls and Waimea in the north (1h30), to Kailua-Kona in the west (2h30), and to Pahoa and the beaches in the east. The drivers are often very accommodating and will be able to give you information or drop you off (sometimes) at the most convenient place for you!
