The view from Pololu Valley Lookout is superb with wind driven waves and a beautiful black sand beach
At the end of the road, free parking is available. The view from the Pololu Valley Lookout is superb: the waves propelled by the wind come crashing down on the rocky mountains and a superb black sand beach. Nearby, a very steep trail leads down into the valley and along the coast. Bring sticks if you are not familiar with hiking or if it rained the day before. The walk is short but the softness of the black sand is well worth the detour. Note that the valley is a sacred place for Hawaiians, do not go off the trails.

Superb lookhout from the top of the road that ends here
Very steep train of about 30 minutes to get to the beach, but it is worth it.
