Wild, unusual and quiet beach near Kapalua with lava rocks and pebbles, perfect for a walk and a picnic
15 minutes from Kapalua on the Honoapiilani highway, after the 34 mile marker. A sign indicating "Punalau Beach" points to a path that leads to the beach of the same name. This path is accessible only by foot. Lava rocks and numerous pebbles make it a wild and unusual beach. To avoid injuries, swimming is not recommended, especially in winter when the waves are like washing machines. On the other hand, walks and picnics are very pleasant. Especially since the view and the tranquility offered are appreciable.
