Rock with impact points, a bellstone or metal resonance stone used to send messages by hitting it.
A little before the 16 mile marker on Kahekili highwaym, on the side of the road, you will see a rock called "Pohaku kani" with impact points. This is a bellstone, a metal resonating stone that was used to send messages among Hawaiians. By hitting it with a stone, you can obtain a thud, but you have to do it several times! You can see the marks of the old blows given on the rock. Note that the stone is sacred in the Hawaiian culture and it is now forbidden to hit it.
